Coliseum and what action you intend to take as my elected representative.<\/p>\n<p>I have serious concerns about this event being held in a city-owned public facility, especially if the event includes drag performances, children\u2019s activities, or direct interaction between performers, volunteers, organizers, and minors. I believe the City of Seguin has a responsibility to protect children, families, attendees, protesters, nearby residents, and the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>Before this event is allowed to move forward, I believe the city should require clear safeguards, including full disclosure of all performers and volunteers who may interact with children, completed background checks where appropriate, no unapproved performer or volunteer substitutions, clear separation between adult-themed entertainment and child-focused activities, and proper supervision for any children\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n<p>I also believe the city should require a complete public-safety plan. That plan should include adequate law enforcement and security inside and outside the facility, traffic and crowd-control planning, protest and counter-protest management, emergency medical planning, fire-safety planning, and coordination with local law enforcement as needed.<\/p>\n<p>Most importantly, Seguin taxpayers should not be forced to pay for special security, crowd control, protest management, or other public-safety costs created by this event. If additional security is required to keep the community safe, those costs should be paid by the event organizers to the fullest extent allowed by city policy.<\/p>\n<p>Please let me know your position on this event. Do you support allowing the PrideFest event to move forward as planned? Do you support requiring stronger safeguards before the event is approved? Will you support requiring the organizers, not taxpayers, to pay for any additional security and public-safety costs?<\/p>\n<p>As your constituent, I would appreciate a clear response explaining where
