Speaking at Tonight\u2019s Seguin City Council Meeting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Seguin City Council meeting begins at 5:30 PM<\/strong> at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seguin, TX 78155<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please plan to arrive early so you have time to park, find a seat, and get settled before the meeting begins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you would like to speak about the PrideFest event, you do not<\/strong> need to notify the City Secretary in advance. When the public comment portion begins, the Mayor will call for speakers. We understand that the Mayor will allow women to speak first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each speaker is allowed up to five minutes<\/strong>. You do not have to use the full five minutes. A short, clear statement is perfectly acceptable. If all you want to say is that you oppose the PrideFest event or have concerns about drag performances at a family-accessible event, you may simply say that and then return to your seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please keep your comments respectful, focused, and on message. The goal is to let City Council know that many citizens have serious concerns about this event, especially when children may be present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good way to begin is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMayor Dodgen, honorable Councilmembers, my name is ______.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may provide your address, but your street address is not required. If you live in the City of Seguin and do not wish to give your address, you can simply say:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI live in the City of Seguin.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public comment is usually one of the first items handled during the meeting. After you speak, you may stay for the rest of the meeting or leave whenever you wish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most important thing is to show up, be respectful, and let Council know where you stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
